GROUNDBREAKING IN MACKTOWN

Grab your shovel and join us at 1750 Central Avenue on Monday, May 13 at noon for the ground breaking ceremony for The Bigfoot Taproom ! What an exciting time for Macktown! Ray, Lisa and Neil have spent many hours getting everything organized and they are ready to bring their dream to McKinleyville! They will have pictures of the floor plan for attendees to check out. Tentative opening will be July 2019! They are proud to be working with local breweries, wineries and cider companies to serve locally made adult beverages.

LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP

Our second workshop is fast approaching! Mark your calendar and plan on joining us for a very informative workshop on Effective Leadership Techniques for Small Businesses! There is no better time than the present to brush up on your leadership skills. The workshop will be on Thursday, June 13 from 9:30 to 11am at 3995 Dow's Prairie Road in McKinleyville.

Suzan Gupton has volunteered to lead this workshop and share her knowledge. She has over 20 years of experience owning a leadership management business in New Mexico. She focuses on the business and personal coaching aspects of leadership.

This workshop is free for McKinleyville Chamber members and $10 for non-members. Coffee, water and morning pastries will be served. Click HERE to register to attend.

PARTICIPANT & VENDOR OPPORTUNITIES

Pony Express Days is right around the corner! We are still taking applications for the outdoor chili cook off and parade participants as well as vendors for the festival.

The chili cook off will be on Thursday, May 30 in the McKinleyville Shopping Center. All cooking will be done on-site beginning at noon with the doors opening to the public at 5:30pm. So if you think you have the best chili recipe, sign up to participate.

Thanks to our many sponsors this year, entry for the Pony Express Parade on Saturday, June 1, is free! The parade will follow the usual route along Central Avenue and begin at 11am sharp starting with a Coast Guard helicopter flyover.

There is still space available for food, craft and informational booths during the Pony Express Festival from noon to 4 pm on Saturday.

You can find more information on the festivities and a ll of the registration forms on our website . We are l ooking forward to another fun-filled year.
