Lakeside Chautauqua Surpasses Pool & Wellness Campaign Goal
Lakeside Chautauqua announces that the Pool & Wellness Campaign has surpassed the campaign goal of $3 million, raising $3,262,501 to support the building of the Pool & Wellness Center in just seven months! This is a monumental achievement in Lakeside's history and the ripple effect will be felt for years to come.
A record number of families, friends and businesses supported the campaign. Every single gift, regardless of size, is significant to the success of this campaign and now a community swimming Pool & Wellness Center will become a reality for next summer, thanks to you.
In every successful campaign there are transformative gifts. Lakeside's Pool & Wellness Campaign is no exception. Mark and Jane Grindley and Family and Mitch and Chris Grindley and Family have given a transformative gift, and today we celebrate. To gratefully recognize their awe-inspiring generosity, Lakeside Chautauqua will name the pool and wellness center the Grindley Aquatic and Wellness Campus. Join us in showing our deep appreciation by thanking the Grindley Family for their support in helping make this vision a reality.
We recognize and honor two other Lakeside families who have made major gifts in support of this campaign.
Please join us in thanking the Drackett Family for a significant gift in support of wellness. We will be naming the wellness hall in honor of the Drackett Family, which continues to leave its legacy at Lakeside. Thank you Mame and Bill for engaging all of the Dracketts in making this most generous gift!
As well, we thank and celebrate another intergenerational Lakeside family who made a significant gift in support of this campaign. Numerous branches of the Brucken Family worked together to make a major family gift. Thank you to Brian and Christine Brucken, along with Brian's uncle, Bob Brucken, who reached out to multiple branches and generations to make it happen!
We're All in This Together
Last year, the Lakeside community expressed the need of a community swimming pool and wellness center. The Pool & Wellness Taskforce was named and worked countless hours to plan the facility. At the same time, the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation prepared the ground work for the campaign.
Members of the Pool & Wellness Taskforce include Chris Brucken, Jeff Perkins, JoAnn Bobbitt, Doug Bohl, Mark Grindley, Marsha Jenkins, Margie Shade, Laurie Switzer, Jim Young, Randy Snow, Bill Drackett, Dave Blank, Mike Swallow, Dan Dudley and Kevin Sibbring.
A Campaign Leadership Team was selected to serve and spearhead the effort. The Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Board especially thanks Glen and Vicki Becker, Lee and Karen Mader, Bill and Mame Drackett, Jim and Betty Jane Young, Kurt and Debby Geisheimer and Brian and Chris Brucken.
The Campaign Leadership Team and the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Board of Directors worked tirelessly throughout that time to launch and complete the campaign. Their generosity of time will have a lasting impact on future generations.
Lakesiders of all ages got involved in the campaign. Children raised more than $1,600 by selling lemonade during the summer. We saw the lemonade stands out every Friday afternoon and Saturday evening before the Hoover performances. The learning experiences were endless as they rolled the lemonade stands around Lakeside. We're all in this together!
Lakesiders stepped forward in outstanding ways.
Generations of families joined together giving their largest gifts, and new individuals gave to Lakeside for the first time.
Also, 100% of the Lakeside Chautauqua Board of Directors and 100% of the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Board of Directors support the Pool & Wellness Campaign financially. In addition, 100% of the Campaign Leadership Team and 100% of the Lakeside Chautauqua senior staff is supporting the campaign.
We are extremely thankful for corporate partners that have stepped forward to support the Pool & Wellness Campaign, including: KeyBank Trustee of the Walter Terhune Charitable Fund, Bassett's Market, Corso's Flower & Garden Center, Starcher Enterprises, Lakeside Chautauqua Realty, Cramer & Associates, Barnes Nursery, Street Sotheby's International Realty, Zimmerman Remodeling & Construction and Avery's Café & Catering. More partners will be announced in the fall.
We are truly grateful for each and every gift that supports the building of the Pool & Wellness Center, and it took each Lakesider's support to make this campaign successful. You are important to our successful future.
