Dear Friends,

We are excited to share that we are planning a phased opening of our new and repurposed Family Center spaces, bringing additional programs and services online beginning in August. Our new 8-lane pool will be open for lap swim to our Madison Area YMCA members, beginning Monday, August 2! Keep reading for details on how and when to participate.

Aquatic safety and swimming instruction are among our highest priorities, and we continue to work on recruiting and fully training certified, experienced instructors and additional lifeguards to expand our existing team of aquatics coaches, lifeguards and managers. Now with two pools, we need a larger number of highly qualified aquatics staff so we can meet the growing demand for swimming lessons for people of all ages.

We anticipate that more programs and services will be introduced throughout the remainder of 2021 and into 2022 to fully-utilize the new expansion and repurposed spaces. Please continue reading to learn more about our phased opening and additional swim programs, employment opportunities and more.

Be sure to check out our FAQs here, to learn about our expanded programs and services, including basketball, pickleball, volleyball and more. Learn about our new strength, performance and functional training area, opening on August 4, here.

LAP SWIM IS HERE!
Our new 8-lane pool will be open for lap swim to our Madison Area YMCA members, beginning Monday, August 2! Lap Swim will be available Monday - Friday, 7-10AM (8 lanes) and from 3:30-7:30PM (4 lanes) both in our new 8-lane pool. Although registration is not required for lap swim, we will require swimmers to sign in and out at the pool deck to allow our team to best evaluate our members' pool usage and adjust our schedule and staffing needs as we continue to expand our offerings.
HOW DO I ACCESS THE 8-LANE POOL?
Our new 8-lane pool can be accessed through the corridor adjacent to the 4-lane pool in the locker room area. The locker room suite is designed to connect into the Aquatics Center seamlessly. The entrance to the 8-lane pool can be found through the corridor at the back of the Women's and Men's locker rooms, along the far end of the hallway.

Participants must be able to swim at least 25 yards each of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly (does not need to be consecutive). Aquatic safety and swimming instruction are among our highest priorities, and we are working to recruit and fully train certified, experienced instructors and additional lifeguards to expand our existing team of aquatics coaches, lifeguards and managers. As we continue to expand our spaces to bring home our Mariners swim team, teach lifesaving skills to those learning how to swim, and classes for members swimming for health and wellness, we also look to expand our staff. With trainings and competitive pay, the Y truly invests in its staff.”

FACE MASK POLICY
#YIamvaccinated
The Y is a key partner in keeping our community physically and mentally healthy by providing much needed access to exercise and programs for all ages. We believe it is our responsibility to protect our members, participants, and employees so a visit to our facilities is as safe and enjoyable and possible.

Our YMCA has followed regulations and guidelines set by the state of New Jersey, local Public Health Department and the CDC throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Consistent with that practice, we have eased our mask and distancing restrictions in some cases in alignment with the CDC and the Governor’s new Executive Order issued on Monday, May 24. In accordance with the State's announcement and CDC guidelines, individuals age 12 and older, including members, guests, volunteers and staff, who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, are no longer required to wear a mask while inside our Y’s Family Center.
