Aquatic Center Dedication
|
|
The City of Taylor Parks and Recreation Department will host a dedication Ceremony for the Doris Roznovak Aquatic Center at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at the pool.
Roznovak, who passed away in March 2021, managed and worked at the Taylor swimming pool for 39 years. She was known in Taylor as “Mother of the Pool” and was a Taylor High School graduate in the class of 1945.
Everyone in the Taylor community is welcome to attend the ceremony and celebrate the official opening of the pool for the summer. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided following the ceremony and the entrance fee to the pool will be waived for the day.

Our community has begun the second phase of building a roadmap to protect the character of the city in the face of an onslaught of growth that is on our horizon.
Click HERE for the link to the plan process.
If the Envision Taylor Comprehensive plan is the guiding philosophy, then the ordinances we write to complement that plan is how we will put that philosophy into practice.
Those ordinances may well impact how you are able to conduct and grow your business.
The ordinances will be written over the next few months. The consulting group the city hired to write that new slate of rules, which will govern everything from the kinds of signs businesses can install to how we develop infill property, has already held two workshops. It is clear that there remains a great deal of “wiggle room,” and...
the people who attend the final workshop, on Wednesday, July 13, and speak up, could have a great deal of impact on the final outcome.
The consultants have pledged to write the rules in plain language that anyone can understand. They’ve also pledged to follow the lead of those who participate, on how those ordinances impact our community, within the scope of the comprehensive plan.
These new ordinances are critical to protecting you community, you business, and the character of this town. If not written carefully, with a full understanding of what we want for our town, all the work on the comprehensive plan will be wasted and some of our worst fears about this impending growth could be realized.
Whether or not you’ve followed the process closely or agree with everything in the comprehensive plan, this effort is where the rubber meets the road.
It's vital that you participate in the process to protect your interests. Please make every effort attend the workshop and let your voice be heard.
The final input meeting will be July 13. Details are below.
