Pop-Up Food Trucks at Klyde Warren Park!
Two new food trucks pulled up curbside this month. Wudan you love to try these new loaded gems? Buns and banh are offered at Wudan Chopsticks, and Loaded Dallas’ heaping baked potatoes are some of the new foods to be enjoyed on your next stroll through the Park. Come see them on CBS 11 Food Truck Lane, now through September. And don’t forget our added summer hours on Saturday and Sunday nights from 5-9:30 PM.
A Day in the Arts Highlight:
Several Dallas Museums Reopen
The Dallas Museum of Art and Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum reopen today with modified hours and safety protocols in place. With the Nasher Sculpture Center following suit next week (August 20), and the Crow Museum of Asian Art and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza opening next month, it will seem just like old times (but not really). Welcome back to the neighborhood, guys…we’ve missed you!
National Wellness Month and
CDC Notes on Visiting Park and Rec Facilities
August is National Wellness Month, and it’s more important than ever to focus on maintaining your good health. Overall wellness reduces risk of illness, as well as stress, and, per the CDC, being outside can help. Come see us in Klyde Warren Park, but please remember to socially distance, wear your masks and protect others by staying home if you feel sick.
KWP Staff Member Highlight
MEET MICHAEL GAFFNEY

SVP of Operations, Michael Gaffney, knows the inside and OUTSIDE scoop on Klyde Warren Park. If there was an Olympic sport for “Name that Plant, Tree or Grass,” Michael would be a gold-medal winner. He’s been asked to do all kinds of things in Dallas’ favorite green space, from painting a giant heart on the lawn to converting the site into an event venue for a 1,500-person seated dinner. No project is too big or unusual for Michael, who describes his job as “Just a walk in the Park.”
Friends of Klyde Warren Park members sustain our grass, gardens and play areas, artistic performances, music, and everything else that makes this nationally admired public space so vibrant—and free for everyone. Thank you so much for your support, and we will see you in the Park!
