#1 United Way Hunger Coalition Launches Last-Minute Mobile Market

Due to SNAP benefits not being distributed, our Hunger Coalition held a last-minute Mobile Market in the parking lot of Red Eye Brewing Co in Wausau Monday, Nov. 3 serving 220 individuals.

Guests received eggs from Ninepatch Farms and a mix of in-season organic vegetables and spinach from Cattail Organics and Red Door Family Farm, all based in Athens.

Afterwards, the Mobile Market rolled out of the Red Eye parking lot with just a handful of garlic cloves left.

If you’re looking to help out the coalition, consider donating when it's needed most.

All funds will be deployed into the community. In addition to that, we’re also accepting collected food from food drives. We’ll take that food and distribute it out to our local pantry systems for you.

If donating by PayPal or Venmo please note in the app that it’s for food assistance and we’ll take care of the rest.

#5 Make a Difference Day Leaf Raking Event Cleaned Up!

Students from DC Everest Area School District Idea School pose for a photo after raking leaves for an elderly homeowner.

Our community showed incredible spirit during this year’s Make a Difference Day Leaf Raking Event (October 22–25)!

Thanks to 51 amazing teams, more than 110 yards were raked—including every home on the waitlist.

From scouts to local companies, students, and nonprofits, volunteers came together to make a real impact in the lives of homeowners who are not physically able to rake their own yards.
