This summer, we're extending our hours!
Throughout the summer of 2018, Community Forklift will be open from 9 AM - 7 PM every day of the week !
For years we've stayed open until 7 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays, to be as accessible as possible for folks with busy daytime schedules. This summer, we're hoping to welcome even more reusers, DIY-ers, and green builders into our warehouse with these extended hours.
These new hours go into effect on July 1, 2018. Folks dropping off donations still need to arrive at least 30 minutes before we close.

We're also changing our storage policy: In order to serve more Forklift Fans in our limited space, we are reducing the storage period for purchased items from 7 days to 5 days . The new summer schedule will offer folks an extra hour each day to pick up their stored items. We appreciate your support as we continue to grow!
Help save good materials from the landfill!
Do you want some active relief from your daily routine?

Get your hands dirty for a good cause! We're looking for able-bodied volunteers with daytime availability to assist with donation pickups. Our donations team sometimes needs extra hands to salvage the materials that are offered to us. Just the other week, several job-training volunteers from The Pathways Schools helped stack these 100+ year old bricks onto pallets to be taken back to our warehouse.

Donation pickups involve loading salvaged materials and bulky items onto our trucks, often in less than ideal conditions. The ability to lift 40 lbs repeatedly, sturdy work boots, and a positive attitude are required.

If this sounds like fun, and you're interested in joining a team of on-call volunteers, please email Volunteer(at)CommunityForklift(dot).org

Or, if YOU have a donation of materials that you'd like to be picked up, please submit a pickup request here .

Forklift materials open the doors to Marlton community pool
We want to highlight a recent victory made possible by our Community Building Blocks (CBB) program. In 2017, our partners at the Marlton Swim and Recreation Club in Upper Marlboro, Maryland needed materials to carry out some minor repairs on their pool house that were preventing the facility from reopening to the public. Through our grant program, the swim club was awarded store credit with which they were able to purchase a new door for their pool house. To see the thoughtful award and thank you letter we received, visit our blog .
