This top section is the same as previous communicated so skip down below for new information if you've already taken care of your Order and Returns.

  • November Orders: Orders are due Monday, November 2nd at noon in the popcorn system. Remember that for this order, you can order just the containers you need. You do not need to order a full case.
  • Don't forget that even if you don't need product, you need to go in and place an order for your American Hero donations that were done via paper forms, Wagon Sales or Storefronts.
  • Please log in and ensure your November Order correctly reflects any last minute transfers you may have done. Any changes need to be made by Monday or the unit will need to accept and pay for the order as placed in the system.

  • Returns/November Order Distribution: Returns need to be entered in the popcorn system by Monday, November 2nd at noon.

  • Entering returns are similar to the transfer instructions; just click ‘Return Inventory to Council’ instead of ‘Transfer Inventory’. Click here for instructions on entering a transfer in the system.
  • Remember that returns are unopened cases only with a max of 10% ordered
  • If you have unopened cases but need singular containers, return the unopened case and place the containers needed on your final order

  • Scout Sales Totals: Scout sales totals for council purposes will be based on sales through 11/5. Please ensure that all Scout totals are correctly entered by the end of day 11/5. Scouts can still sell past 11/5 and continue to earn TE rewards; which do not reset until 12/31.

  • High Seller Recognition: We are still hopeful that a Popcorn Ball / VIP event for those selling $1,000 / $1,700 will be able to be held this year. That decision will be made in the next couple of weeks and will be communicated to those Scouts that qualify and to you. In the event those can not take place, Scouts will still receive their recognition items.

  • Unit Invoices: In the leader portal, click on 'Acct. Summary'. Review the financial data to ensure it looks correct. Remember that any Returns or Orders you've entered will not be reflected on the invoice until the return/order has actually been approved. In the Transaction History section, the 'Credit-Sys' items are the credits for any credit card sales and also online sales. Online sales commissions were 50% through Oct 14th and 45% since then. See the section below if you have a 'Unit Payout Available'. If you have all of your product (or once you do) and you owe the Council funds, please mail a check to the Durham Scout Center (12041 W Maple Road, Omaha, NE 68164). Make payable to 'MAC - BSA' and put 'popcorn' in the memo.

  • Leftover Product: Did you end up with some leftover product? Here are a few ideas from some experienced leaders:

  • Collect donations directed towards buying up extra product and donating it to teachers. (There is a unit in Wahoo that has sold $1,600 in popcorn for their teachers).
  • Would there be any Scouts willing to do a neighborhood blitz?
  • Maybe the unit could do a small incentive to each or have a raffle for all those involved?
  • Any storefronts that the Scouts would be able to do?
  • The good part is, Scouts can continue to sell. TE Rewards to and Units commissions go until 12/31.

  • Free Shipping: Free shipping on orders over $30 goes until this Thursday (11/5) at 6pm. Remember that unit commission is 45% right now on online orders. Watch for an announcement in the next couple of days regarding this promotion.
Previously Communicated:

  • December Order: Because of the pandemic, many units and Scouts have gotten a late start on their Scouting year. We are going to offer another order date of December 1 to help those that need more time to sell. This will allow units to continue to collect orders through the month of November. There will not be returns at that time but any product needed can then be ordered. Product will arrive in the Dec 15 - 17 timeframe.

  • Unit Funds sitting with Trails End: With all of the online orders and credit card sales there are many units that have a balance owed to them. You can find this in the 'Acct. Summary' section of the leader portal. You will need to fill out your Unit bank account info and W9 info to start that process. If you have trouble and would simply like the funds deposited into your Unit Deposit Account (UDA) at the Scout Center you can send an e-mail to mac@scouting.org. Those funds can then be used for charter fees, scout shop purchases, or popcorn bill. The unit can also request a check at any time. Please note that if your unit ends up accepting transfers or placing a final order, you might still owe for that product even though you also have a payout available. Click here for more information about the payout process.
