ST VINCENT DE PAUL THANKS YOU We visited a middle aged veteran who developed a cottage industry. He kept busy building various climbing toys for his beloved cat and discovered his creations were saleable to pet stores. The sales along with his veteran income enabled him to cover all his financial obligations. Unfortunately, his bank account got hacked. Sorting out the situation with the bank was a slow process and he could not come up with his rent when it was due. This neighbor called the St Vincent de Paul Helpline requesting assistance (206-767-6449 or online https://svdpseattle.org/get-help/online-help-request-form/). Because of your help, we were able to help the man pay his current month’s rent. It was good to know during our visit that some of his stolen funds would be returned. Information, Jo Ann Wiesner, 206-291-4012 or wiesnerjo@gmail.com.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE Help save lives by praying for an end to abortion. Knowing that “with God, all things are possible,” people of faith and conscience unite in 40 days of prayer and fasting. Prayer keeps us rooted in the fact that it is our desire to carry out God’s will. Fasting is a sacrifice that helps us reach beyond our own limitations with God’s help. Consider praying this prayer each day, from September 27 to November 5, for the dignity of all life: Father, you are the God of hope. Your word fills us with the vision of the world to come, when every tear will be wiped away, and death will be no more. Father, how we need that hope, how we are strengthened by that vision! Keep our hearts focused on heaven, and diligent in the labors of earth. As we struggle against the culture of death, root our souls in the assurance of victory. We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen. www.40DaysForLife.com
