Community Awards


 

Once  again the PHNA is presenting its community achievement awards, the "Jack O'Connor Person of the Year & Business of the Year" The awards will be presented to a selected individual nominated by our membership in recognition and appreciation for their outstanding contribution to the Dorchester community. Email us your reasons for nominating this individual. Be sure to be specific in detailing their contributions to the Dorchester community. Include their name, address, contact information as well as your name, address and your relationship to this individual. The deadline for Nominations is June 5, 2015.  Email Nominations to: mail@popeshill.com 
 
MAKE AN IMPACT

Are you interested in becoming more civically involved? Do you have the desire to do more in your community but are not sure how to go about it?

 

At the May 27th P.H.N.A. meeting, we will be accepting nominations for the association's Officers and Executive Board and conducting elections. If you are interested in taking on an active role, please contact us before the meeting and we can discuss the options and the level of commitment necessary. Dorchester Day 2015
Every year the Dorchester Day Parade commences on the first Sunday in June.  
This year the parade is scheduled to kick off on June 7, 2015. The parade starts at 1:00 p.m. in Lower Mills at the corner of Washington Street & Dorchester Avenue and travels along Dorchester Avenue to Savin Hill at the corner of Columbia Road and Dorchester Avenue. The parade route is 3.2 miles.

 
 
2015 Project D.E.E.P. & Blarney Stone Dorchester Day 5K: 

Sunday, June 7, Race begins and ends at the Blarney Stone @1505 Dorchester Ave. and runs down Dorchester Ave. towards Lower Mills and back along the same route. Awards, raffles and cookout immediately following race!

Pre-Race Entry Fee: Adults $30 / Children under 12 yrs $15 * Day of Race Entry Fee: Adult $35 / Children under 12 yrs $20

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

On behalf of the entire Association, we would like to thank all the Volunteers that participated in the Annual Boston Shines cleanup.  Not only did you all do a wonderful job cleaning, but you demonstrated Dorchester pride and had some fun together as neighbors.
