Architectural Review Committee Update
We love How You Take Care of Your Yard!
Thank you so much for doing your part and keeping Poplar Creek beautiful.
The Architectural Review Committee has the unenviable task of reminding all Association members of their responsibility in maintain their property. During the warmer months, some of us get behind and that is understandable. Please do not hesitate to share with the Board if you are struggling and need help of any kind. The Board will be happy to offer assistance in any way possible.
These responsibilities are included in Article III, Section 6, "Lawns-Yards" of the Poplar Creek Estates Covenants and Restrictions:
"The owners of lots, including ones on which construction has not commenced, or occupants of residences thereon shall keep and maintain such lots in a neat and orderly fashion, causing the shrubbery to be trimmed to avoid excessive heights, promptly removing dead shrubs and broken tree limbs, cutting grass and removing rubbish. Grass shall not be allowed to exceed the height of eight inches."
Weeds! Weeds! Weeds!
Please take note that sometimes weeds sprout in the most unlikely places on our curbs in front of our homes. If you see them growing in cracks in your driveway or on your street curb in front of your home, please take a minute to pull them or spray with a weed killer. A popular homemade weed killer is made up of 4 cups vinegar, ¼ cup table salt and 2 tsp dish detergent.
Time to Paint, again?
If you plan to paint your home, be sure to submit a Request for Approval form to the ARC Committee for approval before you start. You may find this form on our new website or download here <insert link>. There is no set of pre-approved colors by the association. However, it is the job of the HOA to make sure you are using paint colors that match the style and colors of the homes of your surrounding neighbors. Thanks, in advance, for your cooperation.
Please pick up after your pets
While most of us love our dogs and cats, we need to respect each other’s personal property. Don’t allow them to them pee or poop on your neighbors’ flowers or mailbox area. Keep them leashed when you walk for everyone’s safety and security. Bring them in at night so they won’t disturb the neighbors with their loud barking.
Always notify the HOA Board when using construction dumpsters and storage pods
Please notify the Board by email whenever you are planning a construction project and will need a dumpster placed in your yard or driveway. Please do not park them in the street and block sidewalks or bike lanes without proper permission from Metro Davidson County government. The Board appreciates being informed about the number of days you intend to use your dumpster so we can respond to other homeowners who inquire about them.
With so many folks moving in or out these days, it might be necessary to have a storage pod placed at your home. Again, please notify the Board when it will arrive and for how many days you expect you will need to load it and have it transported away.
