SAT Concordance Tables

Earlier this spring, the test results for the new SAT, first administered in March, were released. Many families have asked us how current SAT scores compare to scores from the prior version, as well as the ACT.

The College Board has provided concordance tables so that educators and families can better understand the new SAT score reports and how they should be interpreted relative to scores from the prior SAT and the current ACT. In addition, students can use a College Board mobile app to compare old and new SAT scores.
Summer College Fairs

Summer college fairs begin in the New England area in July. These fairs offer families valuable opportunities to learn more about colleges of interest without traveling to the campuses. Don't miss a chance to meet admission officers from schools on your college list, especially those that you cannot visit in person. For tips on how to make the most of a college fair, please contact us

Phillips Academy  in Andover, MA is offering a college fair on July 7 beginning at 6pm.

Brown University  is hosting a college fair on July 14 beginning at 7pm. Over 100 colleges located throughout the US will be represented.

Both fairs are free and open to the public. Please visit

As school wraps up for the year, rising seniors are shifting gears and beginning the college application process. Essay writing has started at P&A, and as in past years, several clients are pursuing the 2nd prompt in The Common Application list of personal statement options. For this question, students are asked to reflect on a failure they experienced and lessons learned from the situation.

On that note, we wanted to share this video featuring J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter book series. Her insight about failure and its important role in her own life is invaluable for students applying to college and everyone else.
