Porkies Wilderness Races

We use Central Time zone for the entire race course.

WELCOME TO THE FIRST PORKIES ENDURANCE RACE!

We are excited to welcome you to the inaugural Porkies race! Please take time before you leave for race weekend to review the Race Information Spreadsheet. It contains the important information you and your crew will need.

BEFORE RACE WEEKEND:

📋 READ THE RACE SPREADSHEET

LINK

It includes:

• Friday packet pickup information

• Bus shuttle schedule and locations

• Start times

• Parking information

• GPS coordinates for approved crew/spectator locations

• Other important race-day details

• Bathroom locations

📍 CREW & SPECTATORS

Please make sure your crew understands where they are allowed to see you.

Crew and spectators may ONLY go to the designated locations listed in the spreadsheet.

Do NOT attempt to crew or spectate at other aid stations. There is no parking available at those locations, and additional vehicles can create serious problems for the race and the park.

It is very important to the future of this race that runners and crews follow these instructions.

📲 DOWNLOAD YOUR GPX FILE

Download the GPX file for your race distance from the Porkies website before race day. Do not wait until you are on the course.

🎒 CARRY YOUR MANDATORY GEAR & Review Race Rules

LINK

Review the mandatory item list and make sure you have everything required for your distance.

🚌 KNOW YOUR SCHEDULE

Before arriving, know:

• Where and when Friday packet pickup takes place

• Where your bus shuttle leaves from (Half Marathon runners)

• What time you need to be there

• Your race start time

Read through everything ahead of time, share the information with your crew, download your GPX, pack your mandatory gear, and arrive ready for an incredible day in the Porkies.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the starting line of our very first Porkies!

🧡Happy trails~ Michele, Royals (there is two of them), Sid, Kyle, Ava, GetUFit Irene, and the Ornery Mule Racing crew!

BE A RESPONSIBLE RUNNER

Your safety is your responsibility. Know the course, download the GPX file before race day, and carry enough nutrition and hydration to take care of yourself between aid stations. This is a remote and challenging course, so come prepared and know where you are going.

Very Important!

Check in with Sid at the start of the race. So we know if you started the race.

If you are dropping from the race. Tell an aid station captain

-or-

text the "race drop" hotline to tell them you dropped: 815-261-2667

If you leave and don't tell us we will be sending a search and rescue team out onto the race course to find you.

Expect no cell service

You will not have cell service in the Porkies. This means that your phone will not work to navigate you to any place you are driving or using phone for navigation.
