Touring the Green Mountain State Since 1986!
Greetings!

The Board of Directors of the Green Mountain PCA invites you to the 2020 annual membership meeting to be held next Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. by Zoom.

Normally of course we would have met in person over lunch during our fall foliage tour October 10. But due to the current statewide restrictions regarding large group gatherings, we will be meeting using the Zoom platform. The annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 27th at 7:00 p.m. To attend, click on the Zoom meeting link below a few minutes before 7 p.m. Let's start on time!

This year this is an especially important meeting as we will be electing officers to the board of directors for the 2021/2022 term, and we very much value your participation.

The club also has two very important needs, as there are two critical board positions which need to be filled. Our secretary Peggy Larson would like to retire from the board, and at this time we have no replacement. Duffy Miller, our events chair, will no longer be able continue in this position, as his business is requiring much more of his time, and we need a volunteer to step up to take over events.

I encourage you all to consider volunteering for one of these positions. Volunteers will find that they have strong board support, and no one would be expected to work alone. Please contact one of our board members at the end of the meeting or at any time to discuss the requirements of these jobs or email us at [email protected].

Scroll down for the agenda of the annual meeting, and scroll down a bit more for the minutes of the annual meeting from last year, which must be approved by the membership at the upcoming meeting.

Let me say in closing what great fall foliage tours we had Saturday October 10, both culminating at Okemo Ski Resort. Thanks to Duffy Miller and Dave Whittall! The drives were terrific and the leaves still showing great color. See below for some photos.

Hope to see you on Zoom at the very important annual meeting of our Green Mountain Region Porsche Club next Tuesday.

Remember it's not just the cars, it's the people!

Carl Wulfestieg
President

ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
October 5, 2019

ATTENDING: Directors attending were Carl Wulfestieg, Christian McCaffrey, Sandy Gilmour, Duffy Miller, and Peggy Larson. Additionally, over 50 GMR members were in attendance.

WELCOME: Carl called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone to the FALL FOLIAGE TOUR AND ANNUAL MEETING at the Public House Restaurant in Quechee, VT. The day was beautiful and the fall foliage was colorful.

SECRETARY'S REPORT: Approved and accepted.

TREASURER'S REPORT: The balance in the Club account is $14,645.35. Total deposits were $4,393.50 and total expenses were $2,983. Sources of income were the PCA and events. Expenses were related to communications and the various club events.

DISCUSSION:

   •     Carl remarked that our membership numbers are at an all time high and he would like to be sure we are engaging the broad membership spectrum. As an example he suggested the possibility of having shorter tours but doing so more frequently. Each tour would have a different leader and would arrive at different restaurants and would be limited to a manageable 20 cars.
           •         Duffy Miller, Chair of the Events Committee took the opportunity to note that the Committee hopes to have the dates for the 2020 tours set by early 2020 to allow for as much notice as possible. He also asked for tour leader volunteers and provided a high level explanation of what is involved.
           •         Carl also took the opportunity to acknowledge our 2019 tour leaders (Duffy Miller, Al Iuppa, Stu Friedman, Dave Kynor and Pete Arnold) as well as for hosting a BBQ in September.
           •         Brad Kennison has agreed to serve as the Chair of the Membership Committee. Approval by the Board is the final step.
   •     Carl explained the recent effort to revise the GMR Bylaws. This initiative was prompted by the need to better align with the PCA bylaws. The proposed changes were provided to all GMR members via the Mountaineer newsletter as well as the the GRM website. No questions were forthcoming and adoption of the revised bylaws was moved by Al Iuppa and Bob Costella. The motion to approved by voice vote by the members present. No negative votes were expressed.

The bylaws are available on the GMR website.
   •     There was no further business and a motion to adjourn was made, seconded and approved.

Respectfully submitted,

Peggy Larson, Secretary

Fall Leaf Tours on Saturday October 10 a Big Success!

Sunny skies on Saturday morning October 10 greeted GMR members as they gathered for the final tours of 2020. With 26 Porsches and approximately 50 participants divided between the northern and southern starting points, it was a great day for traveling Vermont’s colorful roads.

The southern group, lead by Dave Whittall, embarked from Grafton and headed south to Saxons River and Putney before heading west towards Dummerston. They then headed north-northwest towards Newfane then back to the Grafton area before arriving in Chester for a stretch break. After the break the tour continued to the Jackson Gore Lodge at the Okemo Ski Resort for a rendezvous with the northern group.

Duffy Miller led the northern cohort from Northfield. The tour passed through Northfield, Roxbury, Randolph and Rochester before connecting with Vermont’s classic touring road, Route 100. From Rochester the group continued south on Route 100 passing through Stockbridge, Pittsfield and Plymouth before arriving at the Jackson Gore Lodge at the Okemo Ski Resort for a rendezvous with the southern cars.

Here are a few photos of the tours. See our website, gmtpca.org for more.
