Mid-Year Tonnage Results Ahead of Last Year's Historic Levels
The Port Commission heard a staff presentation on the the Port's mid-year results at their February 13 meeting, reinforcing continued maritime and foreign trade growth and operational success serving the Silicon Valley region.

For the period ending December 31, 2018, the Port’s cargo results are 1.36M metric tons, an increase of 150K metric tons from the same period last year, generating $4.78M in revenue to the Port, an increase of $470K from the same period last year. The mid-year results are ahead of last year’s historic levels, setting new record levels in both cargo tonnage and revenue to the Port.

Commission Chair Presents Mid-Year Report to the City Council
At the Redwood City City Council Meeting on January 15, Lorianna Kastrop, Port Commission Chair, presented mid-year updates on maritime activities and other priorities, and shared an informative Port of Redwood City video. Watch the video and let us know what you think!

Ferry Study and Analysis Approved by City Council
The Port of Redwood City, the City of Redwood City and the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) are in the early stages of pursuing new public ferry service in Redwood City and secured $510K in funding to conduct a financial feasibility study and cost-benefit analysis. On January 28, the City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement to complete the study which will forecast ridership, travel demands, potential benefits to the local economy and more. The study will take approximately 18 months to complete and will include outreach to stakeholders such as employers, residents, and water users.

Port Commission Meetings Calendar - 2019 Schedule
The 2019 Port Commission meeting schedule has been released. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, at 8 a.m., located at the Port Administrative Office (675 Seaport Blvd).

If you wish to speak at a meeting, plan to arrive early to fill out a speakers card.

Chinese Delegation Port Visit
On January 30, the Port of Redwood City was honored to host a Chinese delegation of twelve government officials from Nanjing Municipal Government. The delegation received a tour of the Port and information on the Port's environmental stewardship programs. We are grateful to have exchanged information with the delegation members!
