2019 Calendar Contest Open Now
The Port of Redwood City is hosting an art contest to encourage young residents ages 7-8 to explore and learn about the Port. Budding artists are urged to describe their favorite waterfront memories in art form, and submit their artwork for a chance to be included in the Port’s 2019 calendar. Learn more here .
Save the Date for PortFest and New Website Launched 
Sav e the date! PortFest is coming up on the first Saturday of October or October 6. Learn about the maritime heritage of the Port, the industrial working waterfront, and enjoy recreational activities on the San Francisco Bay. The day will include live music from LiveWire and Phil 'n the Blanks, children’s activities, food trucks and booths, and more.

Congratulations Mike Giari on Retirement
We are very proud of the Port of Redwood City’s Executive Director Mike Giari for his 30 years of service. Mike was recently recognized at the May 21 City Council meeting for his work. Thank you Redwood City Mayor, Council Members, and Port Commissioners for the recognition. Congratulations Mike!

Port Announces New Executive Director
The Port of Redwood City recently announced the selection of a new executive director. The Port Commission appointed 25-year port, maritime and commercial real estate veteran Kristine A. Zortman, who comes to the Port of Redwood City from San Diego as the vice president of Civic San Diego, a non-profit economic development corporation.

Potential Public Ferry Service Update
Recently the Port and the City of Redwood City hosted WETA officials and staff, the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA) and staff, a representative from Assemblymember Kevin Mullin’s office and members from the business community to visit the site of a proposed potential Ferry terminal. The SMCTA recently approved funding to move forward with studies and analysis of a commuter ferry service at the Port. The City plans to release an RFP for the feasibility study and cost benefit analysis later t his year.

In addition, the recent passage of Regional Measure 3 includes funding to initiate the feasibility studies for the expansion of ferry service to Redwood City.
