Portage Chamber Breakfast Meeting January 20
Join us for the Portage Area Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Meeting and be part of the Business Event of the Year! The meeting will be held at Best Western on Thursday morning, January 20.

Our featured speaker for the event will be Kristin Runge, Ph. D., Communication Research Specialist, Community Development Institute Division of Extension UW-Madison, who, as a part of the Portage Housing Task Force, will be discussing the results of the housing survey taken last year.

This Task Force conducted a community housing survey with presentations by professional housing specialists/experts over the past 8 months. The study identifies possible housing policies, programs and resources that supports a safe, diverse, affordable and equitable housing system and contributes to a healthy tax base for Portage.

OSHA delays effective dates for vaccine & testing mandate
OSHA has made the decision to delay enforcement of COVID-19 vaccine and testing requirements for employers with 100 or more people until later dates. According to their statement, "OSHA will not issue citations for noncompliance with any requirements of the ETS before Jan. 10 and will not issue citations for noncompliance with the standard’s testing requirements before Feb. 9, so long as an employer is exercising reasonable, good faith efforts to come into compliance with the standard."

This means that employers with 100 or more people will have until January 10, 2022 to comply with the requirements that were initially slated to begin on Dec. 6, 2021. Additionally, weekly testing requirements for unvaccinated employees will be delayed until Feb. 9, 2022, instead of Jan. 4, 2022.

Rhyme chosen as a 2021 Elite Dealer
ENX Magazine announced that Rhyme was among the 120 companies chosen this year as a 2021 Elite Dealer.

Rhyme has consistently been recognized among the nation’s top office technology dealerships as an Elite Dealer and is celebrating 135 years in business this year, which it feels is a considerable achievement in a highly competitive industry.

“The past 20 months have been challenging and inspiring at the same time. I’m so proud of our people who innovated, adapted, and changed how they do what they do best,” said Kendall Steinhoff, Marketing Director of Rhyme. “We have invested in training, new marketing initiatives and anything we could do to better ourselves during this time. The marketplace has changed and so have we. I believe with the team we have now we are stronger than ever, and we will continue to offer the best customer service experience we can to our clients. Everyone here is honored to be recognized as an Elite Dealer and they take great pride in the role they play to get Rhyme to this level as a Dealer.”

Each year, ENX Magazine judges Elite Dealer applicants on a number of criteria, from technical service excellence to marketing proficiency, growth initiatives, technology leadership, industry accolades and philanthropy. Those dealers chosen are profiled in the December issue of ENX Magazine.
