As part of the N.C. 211 widening project underway in Brunswick County, a portion of N.C. 133 (Long Beach Road) is scheduled to close next week. Map below.
The road near Southport-Supply Road is anticipated to close November 11 and reopen by fall 2025 while an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor makes several improvements, including the construction of a bridge over N.C. 211.
Drivers needing to get around the construction will be detoured onto Old Long Beach Road. Drivers should be alert to the new traffic pattern and slowdown in the area.
This project was originally scheduled to begin in mid-September but was postponed due to severe weather that impacted the area.
