Great Plains Food Bank anticipates 1 million pound distribution shortfall this fiscal year, but you can help
At a press conference this week, the Great Plains Food Bank announced it is forecasting 1 million fewer pounds of food to distribute to those in need during the current fiscal year, which equates to over 800,000 fewer meals. This is due to high food prices, high gas prices and historically low amounts of food currently being donated. The shortfall comes at a time when hunger impacts one in six individuals in the state of North Dakota.

To help offset this deficit, we are budgeting an unprecedented $2.2 million to purchase food this fiscal year, which is the highest in the organization's 39-year history.

While we are in the midst of our greatest challenge since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, YOU can make a difference by making a gift to help feed those in need.
Family honoring a legacy while helping those in need
The Great Plains Food Bank was Mason Roth's favorite place to volunteer before he passed away in December of last year at just 21 years old.

His mother, Barbara, and his cousin, Jocelyn, recently stopped by our warehouse to be certain his memory is not forgotten. Jocelyn made a generous $1,000 gift through the Bell Bank Pay it Forward campaign while Barbara made a $515 gift that was matched through a group of generous Great Plains Food Bank donors.
Stuff the Truck provides 3,673 pounds of food
The Brandenburg Crew Inc. along with Anytime Mortgage, eXp Realty and OnPoint Insurance took a full day to help in the fight to end hunger at the annual Stuff the Truck event. Employees recently spent the day accepting food donations outside of Cashwise locations in both West Fargo and Bismarck to benefit the Great Plains Food Bank.

When all was said and done, a total of 3,673 pounds of food was collected to help feed those in need. You can watch a video highlighting a great day for hunger-relief below.
