PVSD Bookaneer Book Fair

Friday, Sept 23 - Friday, Sept 30 in the Ormondale MUR

PVSD's Bookaneer Book Fair is almost here.  Once again, we will host a Scholastic Signature Fair with additional easy-to-navigate cases, more series, more middle grade titles, and more adult titles.

The book fair will be open before, during and after school in the Ormondale MUR.   Highlights of the fair will include:
  • Popsicle Preview from 2:50 - 4pm on Fri, 9/23
  • Family Fun Night with Curveball Slider Truck (vegetarian options available), from 5-7pm on Tues, 9/27
  • Bagels and Books Breakfast (for children and caregivers) from 7:45 - 8:30am on Fri, 9/30

This is a very fun volunteer opportunity with many options to suit your schedule. Sign up here:

The book fair is the only source of supplemental support for libraries at both Ormondale and Corte Madera.  Last year, almost 50% of all sales came back to the libraries! Come buy a book and help build our schools' libraries!

Word from Principal Sartor

DROP OFF and PICK UP Reminders
As a reminder, at drop off and pick up, vehicles are to stay in a single file line and children must exit and enter vehicles from the right-side of the car only, near the curb.  Please say quick goodbyes and remain in your vehicle during drop off.

For those not in the pick up line, please keep bikes, strollers, scooters, and socializing away from where the children sit as it becomes increasingly difficult to get children to their cars and congests the pick up process.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

This year we are asking our community to come together again to raise at least $900,000 to complement the District's other sources of funding for the 2016-2017 school year. Thanks to your support, the District is able to recruit and retain excellent teachers, provide funds to hire classroom aides and learning specialists, and offer music, art, PE, and foreign language classes.

"Halloween Heroes" Costume Drive - Helping Homeless Families

Reminder, the Portola Valley Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts Halloween Heroes Costume Drive starts next week! We'll be collecting new and gently-used costumes in all sizes for local families served by LifeMoves.

Collection boxes are now available at Ormondale and Corte Madera School offices and at community locations including Bianchini's in Ladera. Donations can also be made at the Ormondale Book Fair (Sept. 23rd-30th) and the morning drop-off lines at the schools (Oct. 3rd-7th ). More details to follow in the coming weeks. All kids deserve to have a costume for Halloween! Please dig through your closets and old boxes to support your community by donating a costume. If you prefer to donate cash, we will purchase costumes to make sure we have a wide range of sizes.
