Dear Archbishop Carroll Parents and Guardians,

I write to you today as Archbishop Carroll has been notified that a student in the sophomore class has tested positive for COVID-19.

Immediately upon learning of this, we contacted the Chester County Health Department (CCHD). The CCHD investigates all suspects or confirmed reports of COVID-19 and helps give guidance to the people involved. COVID-19 investigations include finding close contacts during the contagious period (contact tracing). The CCHD did not recommend quarantine for those coming into contact with the sophomore as all individuals were 6 feet apart and wearing masks.

We ask that you abide by the following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines to protect your health and those around you:
  • Consistent use of face masks while around individuals who are not part of your immediate family
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Follow all recommendations provided by the CDC here.

If you, or someone in your household, exhibit COVID-19 related symptoms, please notify Archbishop Carroll so that we may track any potential outbreaks within our school community. All such personal information will be maintained confidentially. The health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff are our top priority and we will take all possible steps to maintain the well-being of every member of our school community.

If you have any questions, please contact Thomas Quintois at [email protected]

Sincerely,

Dr. Anchen Schulz, Principal
