What's New

New Resources

Planning Your Direct Support Staff Training

The Institute on Community Integration recently offered part one of a two part training series on how to plan training for direct support professionals (DSP).

This was an area of need clearly articulated by organizations we met with this year during listening sessions and trainings. We took this feedback and created a tailored training that tours our website and helps organize resources and materials around topics DSPs need support and training on. Participants left the training with a customized action planning tool with links to resources they thought would benefit their staff.

Materials are available for free on the mnpsp.org homepage, including a PDF of the slides and the customizable action planning tool. See the image below for where to access the training materials.

June is Cohort Celebration Month

The state of Minnesota and ICI are teaming up to celebrate the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of organizations that have provided positive supports to the people they serve based on strengths within the TOET.

Those who have completed a TOET with ICI will have the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments in June 2023.

The list of celebration items will continue to evolve and grow; for now, we are planning some great things including:

  • An asynchronous celebration
  • A list of names on the website mnpsp.org
  • An announcement of those getting recognized in an upcoming newsletter
  • Swag for staff/ teams
  • Official recognition from the state for continued efforts in the area of positive supports
