Alliance with Municipality of Nicoya :

To celebrate World Environment Day on June 5th, The Municipality of Nicoya and Guardians of Nature signed a cooperation agreement to promote and develop good environmental practices within the Nicoyan population. Through projects, campaigns and training we can demonstrate ways that will protect the ecosystems throughout our canton.

We launched this alliance by delivering Guardian and Nature books to Nicoyan children and planting 400 native trees . By working together we can make the county of Nicoya a true land of Guardians of Nature.

Nature and economy:

Jessica Sheffield Zamora, Founder and Executive Director of Nature Guardians writes on a topic that concerns us all, as it impacts every human being on the planet.

The local and global economy is carried out in the biosphere, the space of land, water and air where life develops. The biosphere is our main asset. It is the natural capital from which we received our well-being. Paradoxically, that biosphere which makes possible the creation of goods and services, and the development of the economy, is not taken into account in economic systems.
