Dear Christ Church Family,
This is to let you know that a parishioner who participated in worship with us yesterday tested positive for COVID-19 this morning.
The CDC recommendations for someone who is exposed to COVID. "If you have been in close contact (within 6 feet of the individual for over 15 minutes) with a confirmed case of testing positive for COVID, it is recommended that:
- If you ARE up to date on your COVID vaccinations, you do not need to quarantine or isolate. You should wear a well-fitting mask when around others and test yourself at least 5 days after known contact. Watch for symptoms, and if you become symptomatic, stay home until symptoms subside and take a test.
- If you are NOT up to date on your COVID vaccinations, stay home for at least 5 days and have a confirmed negative test after that time.
COVID, in general, is on the rise and this exposure serves as a reminder that COVID is still here and part of our everyday lives. Please be vigilant in caring for yourself and others. I pray for our infected parishioner, and for all of you, that you are well. Please continue taking the necessary precautions to stay safe. When in doubt, please err on the side of caution to protect others. I'll get tested myself on Friday and Saturday.
As is my usual practice, if I either test positive or show any symptoms, I'll plan to quarantine myself next weekend and lead worship from the Rectory via Zoom. Otherwise, I hope to see you all in the Nave on Sunday.
If you have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to call or text my cell phone: 240-495-1291.
Blessings,
Rick +
