SUBARU CENTURION CANADA INSIDER
Thank You for being a part of the 2016 Subaru Centurion Canada Blue Mountain.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helps make Subaru Centurion The Blue Mountains Canada a reality  each year.  The OPP who  keeps us all safe; the Town of Blue Mountains, Grey County, Simcoe County, Grey Highlands and Collingwood for sharing their beautiful roads with us; Blue Mountain Village Association for their unwavering support all year long; Blue Mountain Resort for providing an amazingly beautiful venue; the volunteers who show up event weekend rain or shine; our sponsors who we couldn't do this without; and finally each and everyone of you for being such loyal supporters of Centurion Cycling.

Centurion is the cornerstone of growing cycling in our community and fostering youth groups and various organizations by giving back  to foundations and charity groups.  We also sponsor the Centurion Next Wave Team which has developed into a cycling team that is a force to be reckoned with.  The results these young riders have accomplished are impressive and we believe the next generation of world ranked cyclists will come from this team.
We are already starting to plan the 2017 weekend of events!  We are looking to expand the weekend and offer additional events so stay tuned!  As we develop new events, we might ask for feedback from you so if we send you a survey, we really hope you will participate in it so we can bring the best of cycling to Subaru Centurion The Blue Mountains Canada!

POST RACE RECOVERY FROM MUSCLECARE

Hello Centurion Riders,

The health professionals from Team MuscleCare and the Centre for Fitness Health and Performance had a great time working on the athletes this weekend. Now we want you all to ask yourself, "how well did my body recover from the ride over the weekend?"...

CENTURION NEXT WAVE

The Centurion 50 mile event on Saturday saw the team amass its top riders in the front group right from the start. The front group quickly dwindled down to about 25 riders after they crested the second climb. By that time Gunnar Holmgren had bolted from the front of the pack to take a 17 second lead. He was eventually caught by competitors in the lead group which hit speeds topping 80 kph on the final descent off the escarpment. This allowed Matt Staples to take the front, after a small but minor crash in the field at the final turn about 3 km from the finish. Staples would get a gap on the field and hold it to the line to win the race, his final one with the team. Behind him teammates Graydon Staples and Gunnar Holmgren sprinted to complete the podium taking second and third in the sprint to the line.
