Post Street Bridge is OPEN!

Built in 1917, Post Street Bridge stakeholders began planning a much-needed renovation and upgrade in 2015. Construction began in 2020 and the bridge reopened TODAY!

As Mile 23 of the Spokane River Centennial Trail moves north from Riverfront Park across the Spokane River and west to Kendall Yards, Post Street Bridge is a vital connection. With one lane of northbound traffic in the center and Centennial Trail on the east and west sides, the curb-to-railing views of the Spokane Falls are spectacular! Landscaped planters separate traffic from Centennial Trail, bringing a lush look across the Spokane River.

Friends of the Centennial Trail were honored to serve as stakeholders in the planning process to bring citizen ideas forward. Mile 23 is adopted by Stone Group of Companies and is the honorary memorial mile for Clyde Anderson, lifetime member of the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.

This $18M renovation was a long and complicated project. We thank City of Spokane, Max J. Kuney Construction, and all subcontractors and workers who engineered and refurbished this important community connection.
