Come as a stranger, leave as a friend, and return as part of our extended family…
It’s quiet here at the inn today. With folks advised to stay home and safe, we’ve had the pleasure of speaking with a number of you recently —to help move your travel to later in the season but also to chat about how you’re doing where you live and how we’re doing here on San Juan Island.
 
Guests often share how the historic houses that make up our inn have come to feel like home to them, whether it’s over the course of their first visit or because they have returned again and again with friends and family. Their voices bring warmth and energy to our hallways and our breakfast table, which are now eerily silent.
 
We’re keeping busy preparing the inn for when we will see you again! Innkeeper Patrick has scraped and painted the outdoor furniture in the warm spring sunshine, Wenda has whipped the many flower beds into shape, and Chef Jessica has just completed a hand-drawn mural for the Garden Café. And while we wait to welcome you back to Friday Harbor in person, we can safely close the social distance by sharing…

...a bowl of our housemade granola. In bags and boxes, our granola is still traveling steadily around the country. We can send some your way if you would like to place an order or you can bake up a batch in your own kitchen. Our most frequently requested recipe is available for you here .
...the view from San Juan Island. Especially while we’re physically keeping apart, we’ll be sending the peace and wonder we find in the natural beauty that surrounds us here on the island out to you via social media . And please share what’s keeping your spirits up these days. We really can’t see enough very good dogs at the moment.
...a comforting snack. Perk up an afternoon at home just like we do every day here at the inn: with a batch of freshly baked cookies. Snickerdoodle, anyone?
...a relaxing soak in a lavender-scented bubble bath. We’re all washing our hands more frequently, but the bubble bath in our gift shop is what really has us daydreaming today. If you could use a little aromatherapy, we have all of the hand-crafted soaps you’ve enjoyed at the inn available for online order . We’re also happy to make up gift baskets for your friends and family!
