It’s quiet here at the inn today. With folks advised to stay home and safe, we’ve had the pleasure of speaking with a number of you recently —to help move your travel to later in the season but also to chat about how you’re doing where you live and how we’re doing here on San Juan Island.
Guests often share how the historic houses that make up our inn have come to feel like home to them, whether it’s over the course of their first visit or because they have returned again and again with friends and family. Their voices bring warmth and energy to our hallways and our breakfast table, which are now eerily silent.
We’re keeping busy preparing the inn for when we will see you again! Innkeeper Patrick has scraped and painted the outdoor furniture in the warm spring sunshine, Wenda has whipped the many flower beds into shape, and Chef Jessica has just completed a hand-drawn mural for the Garden Café. And while we wait to welcome you back to Friday Harbor in person, we can safely close the social distance by sharing…
