NEW IBERIA, La. --- The Bayou Teche Museum will unveil a poster created by local photojournalist Lee Ball on Oct. 17 at 11 a.m.
The poster features a photograph of the museum and the adjacent Donald “Doc” Voorhies Wing, as well as the Sliman Theater with its newly refurbished Evangeline sign and marquee.
The photograph was originally the cover for the September 2020 issue of Acadiana Lifestyle and has since been used by Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser to promote Louisiana in both the regional and national travel industry. Lee Ball has generously granted permission to replicate his photograph as a fundraiser for the expansion of the Bayou Teche Museum.
Lee Ball’s career spans nearly 50 years. As a photojournalist, his work has been featured in newspapers and other news organization. He has covered New Iberia’s cultural, philanthropic and social gatherings since 1981. The poster is one of his most recent photographs of the city’s historic district. Also involved in the poster production is Kate Ferry with Kate Ferry Graphic Design and Illustration.
A formal unveiling and poster signing will be held at an open house at the museum (131 E. Main St.) on Sat., Oct. 17 at 11 a.m., and will include free admission. The poster will be available at the museum for $30 each and shipping is available.

The museum is home to George Rodrigue’s studio, which includes the painting he was working on before his 2013 death.
