Week 5 of the 20-21 School Year
Therefore you are great, O Lord God. For there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
2 Samuel 7:22
Greetings MLS Families,

Thanks to the efforts of the Cougar Parent Club and the Development Office our classrooms now have Air Purifier HVAC units.

As we continue to keep you updated on the NYS COVID Cluster Initiative, we want to inform you that schools in the Yellow Zone, such as MLS, are continuing with in-person instruction with the addition of required COVID testing. The NYC Department of Health will be conducting a survey of the Yellow Zone Schools requesting information on the challenges of implementing a COVID testing program. Areas of concern, but not limited to are: Parental Consent, Testing Supplies, Administration of the COVID test and the reporting of the COVID data. There are many more questions regarding COVID testing than we are receiving answers. We are waiting to receive details and additional information regarding testing from the NYC and NYS Health Agencies. Students will not be tested without parental consent.

Parents, please complete Choice of Instructional Survey for Quarter 2 by Tuesday, October 21st if you haven't already done so. The original email was sent out on October 9th.

On Wednesday, October 21st during our virtual Chapel, our students will be inducted into the National Honor Society and the Junior National Honor Society. Parents may join virtually. Details on how to view will be shared prior to Wednesday.

Graduation pictures for our 8th and 12th graders will be December 11th and 12th. More details will be shared as we get closer. A reminder to our 8th graders to get your MLS High School application and essay into the Admissions office.
