Week 7 of the 20-21 School Year
For “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you.
1 Peter 1:24-25
Greetings MLS Families,

Happy November!!! We finished our 1st quarter of the 2020-2021 School Year.  Quarter 2 begins Monday, November 2nd. Quarter 2 Choice of Instructional Learning Model goes into effect tomorrow.

Our Cougar Parent Club will be hosting its annual Holiday Boutique on November 8th from 11:00am to 4:00pm. This year the boutique will be held outdoors while following all DOH guidelines so please wear your mask when joining us. Get your Holiday shopping done in a safe environment. 100% of the proceeds support MLS students so please tell your friends and family.

We had a great week, recognizing Red Ribbon Week and Breast Cancer Awareness. I enjoyed seeing all the red and pink in our building. Thanks to Cohen's Children's Medical Center for providing our students and parents with an education on the consequences of Vaping.

Your school pictures are available for pickup at MLS. If your child is remote (Cohort D) and you ordered school pictures, an email was sent to your child letting them know. Senior Parents, an email was sent by Ms. Papatsos to our seniors that purchased a ring, letting them know that they can pick up their junior class ring. You can stop by MLS between 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday - Friday to obtain pictures or ring.

The First Ever Martin Luther School Virtual Soiree will be held on Thursday, November 12th (8pm-9pm). We are planning a fun and interactive event. Please view the attached information below. Funds from the Soiree will go towards our Cougar Relief Fund. Please register to attend.

As for our COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENT, due to COVID-19 service hours have been reduced. Students in all grades will be required to complete half of the standard YEARLY requirement service hours by May 2021. Grades 6-8 = 2.5 hours instead of 5; NJHS is an additional 5 hours instead of 10; Grades 9-12 = 4 hours instead of 8; NHS is an additional 7.5 hours instead of 15. Please visit the Counselor’s Corner for some links for service opportunities. Grant-In-Aid recipients are on pause until Semester 2. There may be sporadic opportunities that arise and if so contact will be made.

Reminders
