Week 2 of the 20-21 School Year
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
Ephesians 5:1
Greetings MLS Families,

MLS is pleased to announce that we will be using Bright Arrow in conjunction with Blackbaud to deliver messages to parents and students! Bright Arrow will allow us to reach students and parents with important messages quickly. When a message is sent through Bright Arrow, it is sent to your phone as a voice message, to your cell phone as a text message and to your email address on file. It is very important that you keep your number and email contacts up to date. You can edit the cell phone and email contact by logging in to your blackbaud account, click on the drop down from your name, then click on Profile. You can edit your phone numbers and emails there. After the first text message is sent, you are required to opt into the text messaging feature. This will be the only text message from Martin Luther School that you will be able to reply to. You cannot reply to future text messages. If you need to reach out to us, please email or call the school. The phone call and email is automatic, you do not need to opt in. We expect to begin using Bright Arrow this week!

As previously shared, we will be holding our Annual Back to School Night on September 23rd at 6:30pm. This event will be held virtually.

Please register using the following link:

You will have an opportunity to submit questions before the event only. We hope you are able to join us on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23rd we will have our Opening Chapel service at 8:05am. Students need to follow Chapel Bells on this day.

If students are having issues with their iPad, keyboard or case they are to report it to Mrs. Younghese, Pastor Chapman or Mr. Fredericksen.

The school calendar for the 2020-2021 School Year is below. Please be aware that this is a tentative schedule and is subject to change.

As previously mentioned, our Cougar Parent Club distributed Charleston Wrap catalogs at Orientation. Items can be purchased and shipped directly to the home or delivered to school. You can also order online.

Please note that the cafeteria is operating on a cashless system; payment is made through PaySchools Central and is linked to your student's id number and barcode on their ID card. The account can also be accessed by school personnel by the student name in case the card is forgotten. You can add money to your student's account by setting up an account at https://payschoolscentral.com/#/user/login or you can add money to the account through the finance office. Cash will be accepted by the finance office; it should be in an envelope marked with the student's name and "lunch". There is also information on Blackbaud on the resource board; look for Lunch - Payschools Information. As we start the school year and accounts are being set up or money added to the ID cards, we will extend credit for any students making purchases in the cafeteria. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Fredericksen ([email protected]).

Reminders:
  • Please submit your emergency cards, proof of updated immunizations and health forms if you haven't already done so.
  • Zoom codes can be found on Blackbaud on each class page.
  • Students must submit the daily health screening sent out by Mr. Fredericksen each morning. Both remote and hybrid students must complete the daily survey, as per DOH mandate. We are asking all hybrid students to complete this survey in the morning before they arrive at school to expedite entry into the building. If you are a remote student, the survey must be completed before 1st period.

Have a great week,
Mrs. Younghese
