We miss seeing everyone in person! Events and meetings will resume as we can. Stay connected with your friends and family. Check on your neighbors. Let our office know if you need anything that we can help you with.
Local Partnerships at Work
Pottawatomie County Cattlemen members are providing cattle feed tubs that will be used for a garden project at the Community Market of Pottawatomie County in 2021. At our annual OSU Extension planning meeting, the cattlemen could see how something they had met a local need. This project was planned to assist the market for local vegetable production as well as to teach gardening skills to clients. As this grant project launches, we plan to offer gardening classes to demonstrate this container gardening method. By the donation of these containers, we save almost $160 in supplies for every 20 tubs planted, which allows for more seed to be purchased instead! Hats off to you, and thank you for your support!

Thank you for helping us "Beet Hunger" in 2021! (pun intended) More details coming soon!

This list is subject to change. Our Master Gardeners may participate for education credit, but everyone is welcome to view these horticulture topics via Zoom presentation. I see some familiar names on this list and some new ones I can't wait to hear.

These webinars, designed for both consumers and green industry professionals, are free with expenses defrayed due to the ongoing generosity of Charles Shackelford and Linda Shackelford, former co-owners of TLC, Oklahoma City.

A link will be provided to register soon! We will provide updates in our announcements section each month. This is also posted on our web page: Pottawatomie County OSU Extension - Horticulture Page. Please share with your garden friends! You can forward this email newsletter, share from the Facebook graphic / Facebook - Webinar Schedule, or an old fashioned phone call!

2020 had its challenges, but there were also many blessings, people and partnerships to be thankful for. Hidden blessings, if you will---you just may have to play hide and seek to find them. We don't know what 2021 will bring, but we will get through it, together.

I have a survey at the end of this newsletter. Please take a few minutes to respond to let us know how to serve you better and please email if there is a topic you would like to learn about. Carla Smith
