Guided Snowshoe Hikes & Guided Night Hikes Planned for January 26th!
The outdoor fun doesn't stop just because winter weather has arrived! Winter is the perfect time to head outdoors and even learn a new skill! Join us for some fun programming perfect for everyone on Saturday, January 26th!
Family & Adult Guided Snowshoe Hikes
Join us at the park as we share with you all the skills and tricks you need to plan your own snowshoe adventure! We start in the classroom with a demonstration and hands-on learning then, if weather allows, we had outdoors for some practice in the hills. If Mother Nature doesn't cooperate we still head out on a guided winter hike with a discussion of snowshoeing so this event will be a great time no matter how much snow we have.
This year we are offering sessions of this popular program for both our adult learners and our young friends! This program is free with park admission & free will donations are accepted. Snowshoes are provided and space is limited so pre-registration is required to attend.
Family Guided Snowshoe Hike: 1:00 p.m.
For families with children age 5 to 11
Guided Snowshoe Hike: 3:00 p.m.

And don't forget! Once you've learned the snowshoe basics from our Naturalists, brand new Redfeather snowshoes are available in the Loess Hills Lodge for rent (see below for prices and availability). The Redfeather snowshoes are a fantastic upgrade to our snowshoe collection courtesy of the Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation (PCF) and everyone who joined the PCF in 2018. Thank you!
