Greetings!
Winter may have started late, but it made up for it in the end. Many resorts in Colorado, Utah and Montana had some of the best snow of the season in APRIL! And for only the second time ever, Vail opened an extra weekend after their closing date due to the 2-3 feet of snow that fell during their closing weekend.
So what's in the long range forecast for next season. History shows that 70% of the time how one winter ends, is how the next winter begins. So we have a 70% chance for an early winter.
Enough about last season, let's talk about now and next season.

The points have been counted and our 2013-2014 Top Dog award went to Jeannie Conway for the second year in a row. Congrats! Jeannie was awarded a $100.00 gift card from Alpine Accessories and a Top Dog statue. But the streak ends there because Powder Dogs officers are not allowed to compete in the Top Dog award. So who will be the next Top Dog? You maybe?
Top Dog points are awarded every time you participate in something with the club. Attend a meeting, get points. Become a chair person, get points. Get the idea? Top Dog award is given to the person who participates the most in club events and functions . Bow wow!

Powder Dogs August Party
Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 17th. That's the day we'll have our second annual Venetian Party. It will be a day of relaxing, eating, drinking and watching the decorated boats go by later in the evening. It was our most attended event of last season, so don't miss this one!
It will be held at Jim and Jeannie Conway's home on the Fox River in Algonquin. More details at the May meeting.

Our Powder Dogs trip committee will be attending the annual CMSC May 18th to decide our weekend trips. Some of the places being discussed are Granite Peak, Devil's Head, Cascade, Chestnut and more.
Our 2014 west trip destination has been decided. We'll be going to Big Sky, MT last week of February, 2014. Details on lodging, transportation and prices will be decided at the next board meeting and released soon.
Hope to see you everyone at the May meeting!
