Happy Labor Day

Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award

"On August 23, 2025 the program was kicked off by the combined honor guard of the West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County firefighters, then attorney Ryles kicked off the program by acknowledging this moment, in those in attendance. It was all encapsulated by the sweet sounds of Mrs. Terrion Nelson's wind beneath our wings. I enjoyed the moment and took it all in from the sounds of the Ebony corral, to sitting amongst the honorees. This day was a good day. However, the best is yet to come. Thank you to Beverly Morrison for nominating me to receiving this presidential lifetime achievement award. After accumulating over 4,000 hours of service, I remind you that a life of service, is a life that counts."

The Mosaic Group 20th Anniversary Celebration

On August 22, 2025, The Mosaic Group celebrated their 20th year anniversary. Twenty years of excellence, growth, and creativity. This fun-filled event included recognition of past and current clients, team members, and community partners, live entertainment, culinary delights, open bar, BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS, and more!

National Black Business Summit

In Collaboration with Palm Beach County, City of Riviera Beach, City of Riviera Beach CRA, we celebrate National Black Business Month, bringing together Black business owners, government leaders, and entrepreneurs from across Palm Beach County for a full day of engagement, education, and celebration.

Proclamations Presented to Honor Local Achievements

Declaring August 2025 as Comcast Month

On August 19, 2025, Commissioner Powell presented a proclamation declaring August 2025 as Comcast Month. Palm Beach County recognizes the critical importance of connectivity in fostering economic growth, enhancing educational opportunities and improving the quality of life for all its residents.

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church 122nd Church Anniversary

On August 19, 2025, Commissioner Powell presented a proclamation recognizing the 122^nd Anniversary of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of West Palm Beach. Missionary Baptist Church of West Palm Beach was organized in October 1903 and by reference of the corner stone, was erected October 30, 1904.

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 100th Anniversary

In 1925, a devoted group of Christians in what was then Inlet City came together in faith to establish a house of worship, founding what is now Mount Zion Baptist Church in Riviera Beach. The legacy of Reverend Adams’s extraordinary ministry continues under the inspired leadership of Reverend Belinda C. Adams Smith, who now shepherds Mount Zion into its second century of service with wisdom, compassion, and steadfast faith.
