As we step into the month of August, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you for your continued support, engagement, and commitment to the growth and well-being of Palm Beach County’s District 7.

August marks a special time of year for many families, the beginning of a new school year. On Monday, August 12th, students across our community will return to classrooms with fresh opportunities to learn, grow, and shine. To all of our students: know that your education is one of the most powerful tools you have to shape your future. Show up with curiosity, stay focused, and never be afraid to ask questions. Your dreams are within reach. Believe in yourself and work hard every day. Great things await you!

To the parents, teachers, school staff, and caregivers, thank you for the important role you play in supporting and guiding our young people. Your dedication is the backbone of our educational success.

Haverhill Town Hall Meeting

On July 16, 2025, I hosted a town hall meeting for the town of Haverhill, at Crossroads Baptist Church, 5710 N Haverhill Rd, West Palm Beach, FL. This town hall meeting was an open community conversation on the future Mack Bernard Center at Mack Bernard Park.

It allowed the opportunity for residents to stay informed, ask questions, and share their input as we shape a center that reflects the needs and aspirations of the Haverhill community.

North Lake Care Center Tour

On July 23, 2025, Commissioner Bobby Powell, Jr. was Invited to tour the Northlake Care Center in Lake Park, hosted by Ms. Nashika Jackson, Nursing Home Administrator.

The Northlake Care Center is a skilled nursing care facility that provides skilled nursing care, rehabilitation services, support services and activities for the residents. The facility is dedicated to helping the residents maximize their potential and live their lives to the fullest while providing a compassionate environment with respect and dignity.

F. Martin "Marty" Perry Conference Room Dedication

On July 24, 2025, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners unveiled the renaming of conference room 2E-12 in the Vista Center as the F. Martin "Marty" Perry conference room, honoring F. Martin "Marty" Perry, recognizing his legacy as the county's first zoning attorney and long time community leader.

Declaring July 11, 2025 As Bobbie Brooks Day

July 11, 2025, Proclaimed Bobbie E. Brooks, Jr. Day in Palm Beach County Bobbie E. Brooks, Jr., a lifelong resident of Riviera Beach, has dedicated 35 years to inspiring and educating students in the School District of Palm Beach County.

Known for his integrity, unwavering dedication, and passion for student success, Mr. Brooks has also been a pillar of faith and community leadership.

In recognition of his decades of impactful service, July 11, 2025, has been officially proclaimed Bobbie E. Brooks, Jr. Day in Palm Beach County. We extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes as he continues his ministry and community work.

Honoring Rev. Benjamin Carrol, Pastor of Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church For 20 Years of Dedicated Service

On July 20, 2025 I presented a proclamation to Reverend Benjamin Carroll Jr., recognizing him for serving 20 years of dedicated pastoral leadership in our community, as the Pastor of Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Pastor Carrol is a powerful and anointed messenger, teacher and speaker. His voice and unique view into Christian living offers diverse groups a meaningful lens for examining and empowering their lives. He also served in the United States Army Reserve for more than 30 years and retired December 2023 at the rank of Major in the Chaplains Corps.
