Our Mission: Power A Clean Future Ohio is building momentum now for a clean, prosperous future by equipping local leaders for equitable, community-driven carbon reductions in Ohio.
Local Action Update
Last week, the Ohio Power Siting Board approved Madison Fields Solar Project, LLC, a 180 megawatt solar-powered generating facility in Pike Township.

This solar farm will reside on approximately 1,500 acres of farmland, providing over 400 local jobs, powering nearly 35,000 homes, and providing an estimated annual tax revenue of $1.7 million that will fund local schools, libraries, fire departments and other county services including the county’s general fund.

The project developer Savion estimates construction to start in spring 2022.

As more clean energy developments continue to sweep Ohio cities, we are moving closer to our long-term goal of zero carbon-emissions and providing a safer environment for our families and neighbors.

PCFO Partner Spotlight: Ohio Clinicians for Climate Action
Tell us about OCCA
Ohio Clinicians for Climate Action is a coalition of healthcare professionals from around the state who are concerned about the impacts of climate change on human health. Our organization is focused on promoting positive climate change solutions that protect the health of our patients and communities through legislative and non-legislative advocacy and education of various stakeholders throughout Ohio.

Why is it important for OCCA to be involved in PCFO?
In the healthcare setting, we have interdisciplinary teams made up of experts in their fields who work together to make a patient well. In working with PCFO, other community partners and municipalities, we are creating a professional care team to help improve the health of a community through transitioning to clean power. And, a healthy community promotes healthy people.

How do you see local action on clean energy benefiting your work?
Most healthcare providers are asked to take an oath when they finish their schooling. These oaths, generally, have the same messaging, which is to work together as a healthcare team, do no harm to the patient and promote community welfare. For many of our OCCA members, lending our health voice to promote clean energy to local municipalities not only falls within the scope of work we try to achieve at OCCA but is the ethical action in which our members have sworn an oath to uphold.
