PCFO Partner Spotlight: The Nature Conservancy
|
|
Who is The Nature Conservancy Ohio?
The Nature Conservancy
(TNC) is working to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. Forests, wetlands, grasslands and streams provide us with clean air, clean water, places of respite and habitat for a vast array of plants and wildlife. They support the livelihoods of so many and sustain a recreation and tourism industry that is vital to Ohio’s economy.
Why is it important for The Nature Conservancy Ohio to be involved in PCFO?
Negative impacts from a warming climate threaten all Ohioans and put our more than six decades of conservation progress at risk. Because of nature’s irreplaceable value to our health and well-being, addressing climate change is one of our top priorities.
How do you see PCFO impacting your work/efforts?
TNC is committed to reducing global greenhouse gas emissions to limit global warming. This goal cannot be achieved without a transition to a clean energy economy, at a global, national, and local scale.
