At REC, we recognize that every dollar matters. That is why we work year-round to keep expenses low and to operate as efficiently as possible while still providing safe and reliable electricity.
REC's wholesale power provider - Old Dominion Electric Cooperative - has announced a Power Cost Adjustment increase that is to take effect on Jan. 1. The change will add about $2.60 for a member who uses 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each month. While this still represents an increase, the change to the PCA is actually lower than the projection we previously shared.
The Power Cost Adjustment, is a pass-through cost for all members. It rises and falls based on the cost to generate and transmit electricity.
