Innovation Ramps Up in the Power Inn Area
Sacramento State University, SMUD, and the California Mobility Center (CMC) have partnered to create a new innovation of technology and transportation here in the Power Inn area.

The coalition blends transportation, clean energy, and the academic university talent creating new mobility options, a new workforce and new use of open land.

CMC plans to grow and relocated to The Hub in the Sacramento Center for Innovation (SCI). The center will make new use of a vacant space on 25 acres adjacent to Power Inn Road. Joining them, the CA Department of Justice (DOJ) will build a new high-tech training school and forensics lab partnering with Sacramento State's Criminal Justice program.

"As Sacramento State continues to take steps towards developing their property in the Power Inn area, CMC is already making progress at their current location at Depot Park. We are very happy to see this collaboration with SMUD, Sac State, and the CMC to realize the vision of the Sacramento Center for Innovation,"
said Rachael Brown, Executive Director for the Power Inn Alliance.

The CMC celebrated their one-year anniversary with two events in March and April at their current location inside Depot Park.
