New Mural Celebrates Southeast Sacramento
June 22, 2022
Last month, a new mural was finished in our district to help beautify the Folsom Boulevard corridor. This new mural, located at Brothers Plumbing, depicts the Nisenan Indigenous Tribes, the Japanese farmers who made this area the strawberry capital of the world before WWII, the American River, and Sacramento State's academia and athletes who shape the future. The artists are John Osgood, Jolene Russell, Sharon Norton, and GuoXiang.

“Thank you to all the community members that showed up for our Community Mural Paint Day event! A very special shout out to the Folsom Blvd Revitalization Coalition, Sacramento State, Power Inn Alliance and Brothers Plumbing for making this mural possible,” states Mayor Pro Tem Eric Guerra. “This project is a testament to the positive change that can happen when an energetic group of individuals ignite their community. Their efforts will provide lasting benefits for all.”

The Folsom Blvd Beautification Collaboration is a partnership among the above mentioned groups, plus Community Murals Sacramento, and the College Glen Neighborhood Association. Visit Community Murals Sacramento to learn more about new murals citywide.
