Being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person they are almost indistinguishable. ~ David Augsburger

There are so many barriers to being heard: physical hearing loss, speaking different languages, voices too soft or timid, being deafened by our own power and privilege, and being silenced by the same. But if we want to hear each other into full being, it is worth the effort to tune in anyway.

Today's meditation practice is to engage in an act of really hearing
someone you don't usually listen to.
What changes because you have listened and they have been heard?

The Unheard

Rev. Virginia Jarocha-Ernst

Whether we cannot not hear them or are just not listening for them, the unheard do have something to say. Our service today will focus on those who are silenced and those who remain silent, all vital witnesses to life,
who deserve to be heard.
Music by Craig Sunada and Louise Chernosky.
