Fox & Company Invests in Accounting
Students via Power in Partnership
Fox & Company CPAs, a highly successful local accounting firm, continues to invest in the community’s future workforce with their support of Power in Partnership, a joint enterprise between Graves County Economic Development (GCED) and the Mayfield-Graves County Area Technology Center (ATC) that brings professionals to the classroom to share their expertise and experience with students.
Laura Clifford, CPA, President and Owner, Fox & Company, and Megan Vinson, a Fox & Company Tax Accountant, recently visited the ATC’s upper-level accounting class. They talked about the types of work they do at Fox & Company, provided information about recent changes in the path to becoming eligible for the CPA exam, and explained the differences between public and private accounting.
Clifford noted that Fox & Company now has two former ATC students working as full-time accountants, two more as part-time college interns, and one current ATC student who is working as a high school intern.
“Over the last 10 years, we have cultivated a relationship with the ATC to provide opportunities for their top accounting students,” said Clifford. “Speaking with them each year allows us to continue to share information about our firm’s growth and provide insight into one of the many options the students will have in the accounting field.”
Fox & Company CPAs, is a full-service accounting firm providing personalized services to doctors across the U.S. Whether clients are looking for personal tax preparation and planning or a suite of business services for their practice, Fox & Company can meet their needs. They pride themselves on being thorough and proactive.
“Thanks to Fox & Company for continuing to support the ATC and to Laura and Megan for taking time to visit and share with our students,” said Mayfield/Graves ATC Principal Josh Heisner. “When these kids see former ATC students are actually working for Fox & Company, they are inspired. We simply can’t offer that without the support of our local businesses and the collaboration with Graves County Economic Development.”
“We are grateful to Fox & Company for their continuing support of our efforts to build a strong, competitive local workforce,” said GCED President Jason Lemle. “Fox & Company is the perfect example of how a local company, with creative, hardworking leadership, can find a path to compete nationally, all while providing outstanding employment opportunities for locals. For Laura and Megan to spend their valuable time with the ATC students and show them what is possible, is really valuable.”
Power in Partnership visits will continue throughout the school year. If you have questions, or want to learn more, go to the GCED website at gravescountyed.com.
