Wings of Hope

“Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;

they shall mount up with wings like eagles;

they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint”

- Isaiah 40.31 NRSVUE

Poetry by Edith Blake

Come Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit,

Born anew in us.

Spread your true light

In our lives afresh.

Speaks words of wisdom;

Encourage us to grow.

Come, Holy Spirit, Come

A Prayer for Safe Travels

[Adapted from Evangelical Lutheran Worship, p. 331.]

O God, our beginning and our end, you kept Abraham and Sarah in safety throughout the days of their pilgrimage, you led the children of Israel through the midst of the sea, you accompanied your people when they lived as exiles, and by a star you led the magi to the infant Jesus.

Protect and guide us now as we travel to Power in the Spirit. Make our ways safe and our homecomings joyful, and bring us at last to our heavenly home, where you dwell in glory with our Lord Jesus Christ and the life-giving Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Meditation Chapel

This year's Meditation Chapel is dedicated to quiet reflection, prayer, and art engagement, helping individuals delve deeper into the theme, "Wings of Hope." Features of the chapel include a large walking labyrinth, scripture and art, the assembly of a stained glass depiction of Isaiah's eagle in flight, and prayer expression.

It is located in the lower gallery of Olin Hall (#18 on the map), just outside the theater. You are invited to engage with this special space during workshop sessions and in your free time. It is located in the gallery in the Olin Hall Building. Thank you to Pastor Terrie Sternberg for helping to create this year’s meditation opportunity.

Worship

We will start the event with an opening worship service. After dinner, we will gather for the Taizé Evening Service, which Beer and Hymns will follow. You can view the services below.
