Based on CHC feedback, NVPCA collaborated on this virtual training with the Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center (Pacific AETC)/ UNR School of Medicine and will cover prescribing pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), performing an HIV risk assessment, and discussing HIV prevention with patients. This session will also include a skill-building portion for participants.

Objectives

  • Manage pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for a variety of patients
  • Explain the importance of medication adherence to patients taking PrEP
  • Describe the need and process for PEP to PrEP
  • Discuss case studies pertaining to PrEP
