Practical Evaluator Training Options

MSA has developed eight new Practical Evaluator courses that provide members with pathways to conduct internal, hands-on competency evaluations for their own staff. These courses are intended to help members build internal capacity by training designated employees—who are already competent in the task or equipment—to then become internal Practical Evaluators.

Upon successful completion, participants will understand how to conduct hands-on, competency-based practical evaluations for their own staff. Each course provides:

  • A clear explanation of Saskatchewan’s legislative and competency requirements
  • A structured, step-by-step evaluation process tailored to specific equipment or task
  • Practical tools, including evaluation templates, checklists, and documentation forms
  • Guidance for employers on their responsibilities in supporting worker training, evaluation, and ongoing competency

Members are encouraged to enroll in the courses that are relevant to the equipment and work activities at their own worksite. All Practical Evaluator courses are free and now available on our SkillsPass training platform.
