Equipping farmers to build resilient farms and communities.
Come visit with us on Monday!

Please join us for our 2022 open house and field day season launch at the PFI office on Monday, June 3, from 3-5 p.m. in Ames, Iowa.

With our expanding staff, we have remodeled, bought a popcorn machine and are eager to welcome guests to visit and see our space. Join us to meet new staff, tour the office and converse with fellow members and friends.

We hope to see you there!
If you are seeding fall cover crops, don't miss out on cost-share and technical assistance!

You can receive $10 per acre on up to 200 acres or 10% of your farmed acres (whichever is larger) and $5 per acre on everything above that.

There are no limits on the number of acres you can enroll, and no requirements on the species or seeding method used.

Join us on Saturday, June 11 from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in Holland, Iowa, for our first field day of the season!

Experienced cover cropper Fred Abels and his wife, Vicki, welcome field day attendees to their farm to talk about roller-crimping cover crops on a conventional farm.

Have you ever tasted honeyberries, also known as haskaps? Join us on Thursday, June 16 from 1-3 p.m. in Newhall, Iowa, to hear about Jeff Sindelar's experience growing these exciting perennial fruits.

He'll share his enthusiasm, knowledge and experience growing honeyberries during the peak ripeness of the best-tasting varieties. He'll also discuss other perennial crop like hardy kiwi. RSVP today!
PFI is launching our spring fundraising campaign and we need your support. While much of our overall program funding comes from grants, your donations are the most important contributions we get; this unrestricted income allows us to respond directly and nimbly to our farmers’ priorities.

This year we are sowing the seeds of change, with your support, by:

  • launching a new and improved Savings Incentive Program for beginning farmers

  • expanding our technical assistance cost-share programs to include rotational grazing and edge-of-field conservation

  • driving the food and farming narrative by building on the success of our award-winning documentary, “Livestock on the Land,” with a new video series.

  • and more!

Please visit us online or call (515) 232-5661 to donate today!
