Equipping farmers to build resilient farms and communities.
We are excited to announce the roster of our first full, in-person field day season since 2019!

This field day season includes 40-plus events across the state, and beyond, on topics spanning the agriculture spectrum from small grains, to pastured pigs, to getting started growing lavender and so much more.

Whether you’re new to PFI field days or a yearly attendee, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere, a spirit of curiosity, a culture of mutual respect and farmers openly sharing their knowledge and experience.

Take a look at the field days we have planned, and RSVP for the ones you're interested in!
When lifetime PFI members Jan Libbey and Tim Landgraf started their diversified vegetable farm near Kanawha, Iowa, in the mid-1990s, they had no idea they’d become part of the leading edge of Iowa’s nascent local foods movement.

Their goal was to make a positive contribution to agriculture in their community, and to connect people to land, food and each other.

PFI members Beth Hoffman and John Hogeland, of Whippoorwill Creek Farm, are beginning farmers in Monroe County, Iowa.

The pair has been involved in PFI beginning farmer programming, field days, the annual conference and the Cooperators' Meeting.

Join us for a free public screening of our feature-length film, "Livestock on the Land," on Saturday, May 21, from 7:30-10 p.m. in Harlan, Iowa.

This screening is hosted with Golden Hills RC&D at the farm of Ellen Walsh-Rosmann and Daniel Rosmann. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy a movie night on the farm!

Weather Note: In the event we need to cancel due to inclement weather, we will make this announcement on our Facebook page.
