Equipping farmers to build resilient farms and communities.

Jeff and Deb Sindelar of Newhall, Iowa, hosted a PFI field day this summer exploring honeyberry production. So, what’s a honeyberry?

Similar to the blueberry, these woody perennial shrubs are more farmer-friendly, requiring little to no soil amending. They also have very few pests and are hearty enough to survive winter.

Native to the northern regions of Russia and Japan, honeyberries are finally making their way into U.S. soil – and markets – thanks to farmers like Jeff and Deb. Learn more about this little-known and hard-to-define berry in our new PFI video.

They compared yield and harvest windows of overwintered spinach planted on three fall dates.
