Edge-of-field practices like saturated buffers, constructed wetlands and bioreactors can improve water quality by treating agricultural drainage flowing through tile lines.
Cooperating farmers Hannah Breckbill and Emily Fagan of Decorah, Iowa, and Jon Yagla of Iowa City, Iowa, wanted to see which potting soil produced the best transplants in each of their farms’ production systems to determine how they should order potting soil in the future.
